Day 1 – Phuntsholing: The journey begins

As you reach the Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station, you will be received by the concerned tour agent’s representative who will ensure your smooth transfers to your hotel in the picturesque town of Phuntsholing.
Admire the scenic roadside natural beauty and soak in the freshness in the air of the first carbon-negative country in the world. Upon arrival at the hotel in Phuntsholing, check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. As the first day of your honeymoon in Bhutan ends, enjoy a comfy overnight stay at the hotel.


Day 2 – Paro: Explore historical and religious sites

Have a lip-smacking breakfast at the hotel with your better half and then check out from the hotel as it’s time to get transferred to the sacred town of Paro.
Upon arrival in Paro, check into the hotel and then relax for some time. After refuelling yourself, get ready for the Paro day tour which includes visits to famous tourist attractions such as Dum Tsug Lhakhang, Ta Dzong National Museum and Paro Rinpung Dzong.

Paro Rinpung Dzong: This 15th-century monastery-cum-fortress is the ultimate example of superb ancient Bhutanese architecture. Rinpung Dzong offers absolutely picturesque views of the surrounding landscape.
Ta Dzong National Museum: Located within the Ta Dzong building in Paro, this cultural museum was established in the year 1968. Ta Dzong National Museum houses over 3000 items of ancient Bhutanese art including paintings, bronze statues and more.


Day 3 – Paro: An exciting day ready to greet you

After a filling breakfast at the hotel, get set for an adventurous day ahead as the Paro honeymoon itinerary now takes you for a trek to Taktsang Monastery, also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’. On the way back we will visit Kyichu Lhakhang. As dusk falls, a relaxing overnight stay at the hotel helps you get over the day’s fatigue.

Kyichu Temple: Also known as Kyichu Lhakhang, Kyichu Temple was established in the 7th century and is one of the oldest and most beautiful religious sites in Bhutan.


Day 4 – Thimphu: The capital city tour

Have a wholesome breakfast at the hotel and then check out as now you will be transferred to the capital city of Bhutan- Thimphu.
Enjoy the scenic road journey and soak in the enchanting beauty that is visible as you zip through to your hotel in Thimphu. Upon your arrival in Thimphu, check into your hotel of stay, relax for a while and then set for a sightseeing tour with your beloved partner. The fourth day’s itinerary of this Bhutan honeymoon holiday lets you visit and explore famous tourist attractions including National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Point and one of the oldest monasteries, the Changangkha Monastery.

Day 5 – Thimphu: The day of departure

What is the best time to visit Bhutan?

Being a year-round destination, Bhutan can be planned at any time of the year. Do Indians need visa for Bhutan?

Indian nationals do not need a visa to visit Bhutan. All you need is a passport valid for six months or a voter’s identity card which will permit you entry to Paro and Thimpu only. A special area permit from the RGoB in the capital city, Thimpu is required for visiting towns other than Paro and Thimpu. If you are entering Bhutan via road, then you need to present a permit issued by the office in Phuentsholing.

How far is Thimpu from Paro?

A scenic valley town located west of Thimpu, Paro is about 50 km via Thimpu Highway and is an hour-long drive from the capital. Home to the only international airport, Paro is the gateway to Bhutan for international tourists.

Can I travel to Bhutan by road?

Bhutan is accessible from India by road through West Bengal and Assam. In Bengal, take the road to Phuentsholing from Bagdogra which is a stretch of 170 km and in Assam head to Samdrup Jongkhar from Darranga about 50 km from Guwahati.
