While the weather in Singapore doesn’t vary too much throughout the year, since the city is close to the equator, generally the best time to travel to the country is between February and April.
There are several ways to get around such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) subway, public buses, taxis, and Grab (Singapore’s equivalent to Uber). Usually, Goway passengers will travel by private vehicle when transiting to/from the airport or cruise terminal. Private vehicles are usually used for private sightseeing tours and shared buses are usually used for group sightseeing tours.
Singapore is a very safe and family-friendly country offering a lot of family activities such as the night safari at Singapore Zoo or a visit to Jurong Bird Park. Singapore is rather traditional, leaning towards intolerance when it comes to LQBTQ lifestyles. However, it is one of the safest countries to travel in as there is very little crime and people are friendly when it comes to tourists, regardless of sexual orientation.
Tipping isn't expected in Singapore. Some hotels and restaurants may include a 10% surcharge on the bill.
Singapore has a number of festivals and events each year, including Chinese New Year in January or February, National Day on August 9, Deepavali in November, the Singapore Food Festival in July, and the Singapore Grand Prix in September. Peak season rates are usually applied during festival and event periods so it may not be the best time to visit.
